The judging platform for hackathons

Judging,
minus the
spreadsheet
chaos.

CritiqueGrid gives organizers custom criteria, locked rounds, and automatic rankings - and gives judges a scoring flow built for phones, not laptops.

Everything in one place

Run the whole judging day from one tab

From rubric setup to final export, CritiqueGrid replaces the duct-taped stack of forms, sheets, and group chats.

01

Custom judging criteria

Define weighted rubrics per hackathon - innovation, execution, design, whatever matters to you.

02

Round management & locking

Open scoring when you're ready, lock it when you're done. No late edits, no disputes.

03

Private per-judge scoring

Every judge scores independently. No anchoring, no peeking, no groupthink.

04

Auto score calculation

Weighted totals and live rankings compute themselves the moment scores land.

05

Mobile-first judge dashboard

Judges score from the arena floor on any phone. No app install, no laptop required.

06

CSV export & audit log

One click to export final results, with a full trail of who scored what, when.

How it works

Three steps. Zero spreadsheets.

01

Organizer sets up

Create the event, add teams, define criteria and rounds, then invite your judges with a link.

02

Judges score

Judges open their phone, tap through each team, and score against the rubric. Drafts autosave.

03

Results locked & exported

Lock the round, review auto-computed rankings, and export the final CSV for the stage.

Two roles, one platform

Built for both sides of the table

For Organizers

  • Spin up an event with teams, judges, and rubrics in minutes
  • Open and lock rounds on your schedule, not the Wi-Fi's
  • Watch rankings compute live as scores come in
  • Export CSV results and a full audit trail for transparency

For Judges

  • Score from your phone - no install, no laptop, no paper
  • A clean rubric view per team, one tap per criterion
  • Your scores stay private until the organizer locks the round
  • Autosaved drafts mean a dropped signal never loses your work

Questions

Asked before every hackathon

Scores are private per judge by default and only become visible to organizers when a round is locked. Every action is captured in an audit log, so results are always explainable.
You do. Event data, scores, and exports belong to the organizer. We don't sell or mine your data, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
A self-hosted option is on the roadmap for institutions with strict data requirements. Full Docker compose container deployment is included out of the box.
College fests and community hackathons have a full free tier. Register now and run your complete event without limits.

Your next hackathon deserves better than a spreadsheet.
